Funders Express Confidence in Asknights During Pre-Seed Round
Somewhere between innovation and the traditional art space.
There is an intersection called Asknights, and it is causing a much-needed shake-up in the art world. It is easy to rely on a number of preconceived notions when one considers the world of art. Among them is an image of art galleries filled with the monied and influential amongst us, probably sauntering around its galleries and bidding on expensive pieces.
Introducing Asknights. The internet-based company seeks to combine the world of art with the latest tech to create a global art marketplace that helps in the development of today’s contemporary artists. Founded in September 2020, the company raised funds in its latest funding round in November of this year.
How does it all work?
By creating a web platform, Asknights have also created a space where contemporary art pieces, Crypto art, NFT art, and one day soon even Blue Chip art get to call home. Furthermore, it serves as a wonderful introduction to budding art aficionados. NFT art refers to art that exists as a digital asset, and in the digital universe. Crypto art refers to a niche form of art that is related to blockchain technology, and Blue Chip artworks refers to more well-known artworks that have been created by recognizable artists that are renowned around the world. The system is autonomous and is run mainly by algorithms, which makes it impartial and prone to gain the trust of its users.
This is vital. By placing the element of trust at the forefront of its development, Asknights can position itself for maximum engagement from its customer base. Ultimately, they have become the perfect space for promoting contemporary artists and providing an educative space for its audience.
Clej’s Brainchild?
Indeed it is. Founder of Asknights Sebastian Clej has a history of entrepreneurship and being the founder of organizations. Educated at University Of Aberdeen and St Mary’s University where he obtained his BA in Philosophy, Clej paid his dues by working for everyone from the Radisson Blu Hotel and DHL, right up to becoming the owner and Growth Director of Asknights.
His work at Alpha Scorpius and ASK Media Marketing Hub, where he still serves as founder, were instrumental in cutting his teeth to head up this organization.
Where to from here?
The trajectory can only be upward. Despite making excellent use of the advancements of technology, what will truly set Asknights apart is its ethos and values. The company values trust, sustainability, and transparency. It also values the position of the artist, and intends to create more opportunities for today’s contemporary artists with its platform. There is another element however. Whether intended or not, Asknights is also lifting the veil of accessibility to the art world. This kind of platform encourages participation from everyone, and reminds us that art is for us all.
