Playtreks moves to the beat with help of seed funding

AI | Cryptocurrency | Music

Described as “the only app that the music industry needs”, Playtreks offers unlimited music data and free music distribution as well as a blockchain marketplace and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Thanks to Playtreks, music makers can find out what people are listening to and reap the benefits of worldwide radio monitoring and blockchain-based distribution to all major streaming services.

Funding round ensures that Playtreks stays in tune

In its most recent funding round – closed on 30 November 2021 – a total of €325,000 was raised. This is not the first time that investors have shown their faith in Playtreks and all that it has to offer the music industry. Four previous seeding rounds, concluded in June 2020, September 2020, July 2021 and October 2021, have seen Playtreks grow from strength to strength. In total, seed funding has raised $802,000 for the platform.

The dynamic duo who decided to get music distribution in harmony

Playtreks was founded by Anjo De Heus and Robbert Vroegindeweij. De Heus is a results-driven trailblazer who has made investors sit up and take notice with his fresh approach to technology and his ability to build teams that make a difference.

Over the course of a career spanning more than 30 years, De Heus has made an impressive number of contributions to digital development and is described by those who have worked with him as a thought leader, energizer and harbinger of positive results.

Over and above being at the helm of Massence Music Group, the company which has brought us Playtreks, Vroegindeweij has been an entrepreneur and a maker of music for many years. Since 2000, he has been a managing partner at Alion, a company dedicated to branding, websites and apps.

In addition to his successes in the business world, Vroegideweij has been producing music for more than 20 years, giving him a unique understanding of Playtreks’ offering both as a musician and as a businessman. He holds a Master’s Degree from Technische Universiteit Delft.

A blog and social media spreading the news

While still in its infancy, the Playtreks blog introduces the logic behind the creation of the platform, explaining that the dream involves a place for artists to monetize their unique content. It also introduces NFTs as a dynamic possibility for the music economy. Recent posts on their Facebook page include a video explaining the concept of non-fungible tokens and their impact on the music industry.

The advancement of blockchain technology will bring transformation to every industry – and the music world is no exception. Thanks to the development of platforms like Playtreks, the sky’s the limit for creators of great content.
